december 17th
jack was about to scream. why did he had to travel every other week just to see his daughter? because this blows. he wanted to spend christmas with his boyfriend, his friends, his family. and he loves his daughter with his whole heart but damn-
he was about to cry.
"why do you look like you're about to cry?"
"because i'm about to cry." jack snapped. he noticed zach's raised eyebrow, then shrunk back. "sorry." he whispered, falling against his chest. "i'm just tired of travelling every other week." he said. "i just want to spend christmas with you and not have to be stressed for more than 2 seconds."
"well-"
"and no, you're not allowed to hate her."
"she's your ex. i'm obligated to at least be angry with her." zach stated, touching his back with gentle hands. "it's in the boyfriend description. and the best friend description. and the band mate description, but boyfriend description is top tier."
jack snorted, slowly feeling all the stress and anxiety leave his body just from listening to zach talk.
"and we can have our own christmas. and you'll be here for the new year anyways, which i think is more important than christmas because i can kiss you at 12."
"you know you can kiss me whenever you want."
"yes i know that." he rolled his eyes. "but the new year kiss is special, and you're my special boy who deserves a special kiss on the special day." he said. he watched as jack moved around so he was hovering over him. "you blush too easily, it's adorable."
jack rolled his eyes this time, leaning down to kiss him. zach sat up without breaking the kiss, moving his hands down to his thighs. the kiss was anything but sweet, it was messy, but slow. very much a jachary kiss when they are rushing. but they weren't rushing.. this kiss was full of love, passion, it took all of jack's worries away.
when their lungs screamed for oxygen, they broke apart, panting heavily. "i think you'll be fine." zach said, kissing down his neck. "until then.." he flipped them back over, jack landing on his back with a happy laugh.

corbyn winced, watching the needle jab his skin.
they were getting matching tattoos. of a butterfly. on their left ring fingers. daniel already had his tattoo done, his finger all wrapped up and his hand back in his glove.
"so what's the story behind the butterfly?" the girl, eva, asked behind her mask as she wiped the little prickle of blood from his skin.
"the cheese is real but," daniel said with a laugh. "we were talking last night and we just.. we give each other butterflies all the time."
"that's cute!" she gushed, adjusting the needle in her hand. "me and my girlfriend got a matching wave behind our ear. love the beach but hardly ever leave oregon."
" we live in LA, we love the beach as well but because of covid.."
eva hummed, letting the needle turn on. "living my dream. or, really my girlfriends dream. she wants to move to california so bad it's beyond expensive. but what do you guys do for a living?"
daniel massaged corbyn's shoulders, kissing the top of his head. "we're in a band. we're on our little break but we'll be back in california for the new year and for our album drop."
"no sh*t? what's the band name?"
"why don't we." corbyn said softly, watching as she finished the butterfly. "coming out on christmas day."
eva wrapped his ring finger in the protection wrap, and helped him get his glove back on. "well i hope everything goes well! i know music industries suck sometimes."
"all the time." daniel said with an eye roll. "can we take a picture with you?"
"oooh for sure!" the platinum blonde girl took daniel's phone, and extended her arm. daniel kept his arm around corbyn's shoulders, posing with a rock on, and corbyn with a peace sign. eva threw a peace sign up as well, smiling happily under her mask.
after the photo, she handed daniel's phone back, and the three of them walked up to the front to pay. they gave her a large (very large) tip, before bidding her farewell.
they didn't park too far from the shop, they were about half way to the car when corbyn stopped walking. daniel looked behind him. "what's wrong."
corbyn squeezed his hand. "just, warm up the car? i'll be back in a second!" he kissed his cheek, and carefully ran back to the shop. daniel didn't question it, but he did wait until corbyn was safely inside before finishing the distance to his car.
"eva!"
eva jumped, turning around to face the door. "corbyn? did you forget something?" she asked, looking around her station.
"n-no, um. i just. can-can you give me your instagram? i know we just met and all but i think, um. i'd love to buy you guys a ticket to los angeles for the new year? i-i don't know, i just. start the new year right? 'cause lord knows this year sucked ass, and we have more than enough room in my house so you wouldn't even-"
"take a breath, corbyn." eva said. "...are you sure? it's... expensive."
"my money just sits there in my bank. i donate a good chunk of it, but it.." he shook his head. "it's no issue. and it won't be below freezing, so the beach might actually be nice. uh, here." he dug his phone out of his pocket, taking his gloves off and started typing.
eva eyed him suspiciously.
"do you have a printer?"
"corbyn.."
"i'm guessing... this one." he pressed on the printer, and waited, waited, waited, and the machine turned one, shook, and then spit out two pieces of paper.

december 29, 2020"we have an earlier flight at 3 in the morning for some random f*cking reason, but," he handed her the papers, and she took them with shaky hands. he then wrote his instagram on a sticky note, handing that to her as well. "i think you guys will love it. just text me when you land and i'll send you my address. i live my band mate jonah and his boyfriend eben and my brother."
"you um," she blinked away her tears. "you don't live with daniel?"
"i practically do. i spend a majority of my time at his house. but once you get to the house, we'll get you guys all settled in, and you can spend all day at the beach until your hearts content. just take a covid test before, and we can show you around if you want." he shrugged, suddenly feeling shy.
he was most definitely taken aback when eva wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "thank you."
christmas miracles, huh?
minutes later, he was in the warm car with daniel, who was waiting patiently on his phone. "what was that all about, bug?"
"um," he took his mask off, rubbing his nose. "i bought eva and her girlfriend tickets to LA for the new year. she'll be staying at my house for a few weeks."
daniel felt his heart melt. "corbyn." he sighed.
"...you're not mad right?"
"mad? never. in absolute love with you and your big ass heart? yes."
